Grim Batol Mythic+ guide for Warspring, the free Cataclysm 4.3.4 private server. Grim Batol is one of the eight dungeons of Mythic+ Season 2, with a 15 minute timer and 4 fights to learn. Below you find the story of the dungeon, what every boss does and how to beat it, and everything that is special about running GB on Warspring.

About Grim Batol

Grim Batol is the dwarven fortress of the Dragonmaw clan, once a prison for the Alliance's enemies and now the base of the Twilight's Hammer. Deathwing's servants are breeding twilight drakes inside the mountain, and the war between the dwarves and the cult is fought in every hall.

The dungeon asks the group to push through four bosses and a lot of drakes and cultists, ending at the twilight drake Erudax.

Grim Batol on Warspring Mythic+ (Season 2)

  • Timer: 15 minutes. Beat it to time the key; a timed key upgrades your keystone and pays the full rewards, an untimed run pays less and depletes the key.
  • Affixes: Fortified (every pack of trash is tougher), Tyrannical (bosses have more health and hit harder) and Get Excited (kills give you haste and speed). The set is the same for every Season 2 key.
  • Key levels: keys start at +2 and go up to +60. Every level is a bigger step than in Season 1, and the rewards keep growing up to +45.
  • Entering: the Teleporter Stone has a Mythic menu that takes you straight into Grim Batol on Heroic difficulty. Start the key at the entrance and the countdown begins.
  • Rewards: from key level +20 every Season 2 dungeon drops Dusktide Crests, the currency for the Level 15 to Level 20 Mythic+ gear upgrades at Zaphon (weapons) and Vorgash (armor and jewelry). Higher keys drop more crests, and the Legend (VIP 8) gems are bought with them as well.
  • Daily contract: Warden Veyra, standing next to Zaphon, gives one daily quest for every Season 2 dungeon. Complete Grim Batol in time at +20 or higher and you receive five times the crests that key drops.
  • Leaderboards: your best timed run in Grim Batol counts for your rating. See the Mythic+ leaderboards, the latest runs and the best runs.

Grim Batol bosses and strategy

General Umbriss

A bear-like general who charges and cleaves. Move out of the blitz, kill the adds and let the tank take the charge away from the group.

Forgemaster Throngus

The forgemaster switches his weapon every few seconds: a mace, a sword and a shield, each with its own danger. Adapt to every change, avoid the fire and keep the tank cooldowns ready.

Drahga Shadowburner

A Twilight priest and his drake. Stay out of the fire pools, dodge the shadows and prepare for the drake when it takes off after the first phase.

Erudax

The final boss summons a swarm of drakes and corrupts the area with shadow. Kill the adds quickly, avoid the gale and keep the group close to the healer when the shadows spread.

Tips for a timed Grim Batol key

  • The trash in Grim Batol is dangerous: use crowd control and keep the healer safe.
  • Tyrannical affects every boss, so Throngus becomes a damage race and Erudax needs all of your cooldowns.
  • It is a short list of bosses with a long route: plan your pulls to protect the timer.
