Shadowfang Keep Mythic+ guide: the five lords of the keep
Updated
Shadowfang Keep Mythic+ guide for Warspring, the free Cataclysm 4.3.4 private server. Shadowfang Keep is one of the eight dungeons of Mythic+ Season 2, with a 15 minute timer and 5 fights to learn. Below you find the story of the dungeon, what every boss does and how to beat it, and everything that is special about running SFK on Warspring.
About Shadowfang Keep
Shadowfang Keep was once the fortress of Baron Silverlaine, until the archmage Arugal summoned the worgen to the Eastern Kingdoms and the keep fell to his curse. In the Cataclysm version the dungeon is full of the old lords, now turned into undead and cursed servants, and Arugal's legacy hangs over every hall.
The keep is a classic: five bosses, a lot of ghouls and wolves, and a route that rewards players who know every corner.
Shadowfang Keep on Warspring Mythic+ (Season 2)
- Timer: 15 minutes. Beat it to time the key; a timed key upgrades your keystone and pays the full rewards, an untimed run pays less and depletes the key.
- Affixes: Fortified (every pack of trash is tougher), Tyrannical (bosses have more health and hit harder) and Get Excited (kills give you haste and speed). The set is the same for every Season 2 key.
- Key levels: keys start at +2 and go up to +60. Every level is a bigger step than in Season 1, and the rewards keep growing up to +45.
- Entering: the Teleporter Stone has a Mythic menu that takes you straight into Shadowfang Keep on Heroic difficulty. Start the key at the entrance and the countdown begins.
- Rewards: from key level +20 every Season 2 dungeon drops Dusktide Crests, the currency for the Level 15 to Level 20 Mythic+ gear upgrades at Zaphon (weapons) and Vorgash (armor and jewelry). Higher keys drop more crests, and the Legend (VIP 8) gems are bought with them as well.
- Daily contract: Warden Veyra, standing next to Zaphon, gives one daily quest for every Season 2 dungeon. Complete Shadowfang Keep in time at +20 or higher and you receive five times the crests that key drops.
- Leaderboards: your best timed run in Shadowfang Keep counts for your rating. See the Mythic+ leaderboards, the latest runs and the best runs.
Shadowfang Keep bosses and strategy
Baron Ashbury
The first lord of the keep. He hits the tank hard and asphyxiates the group, so stay together, use a defensive when the big hit comes and clear the adds quickly.
Baron Silverlaine
The old master of the keep summons worgen spirits and curses the group. Kill the spirits, move away from the shadow pools and use dispels for the curse.
Commander Springvale
The paladin of the Silver Hand turned against his own. Interrupt his holy spells, avoid his shield bursts and keep the tank steady.
Lord Walden
An alchemist who throws unstable potions and poison. Do not stand in the pools, do not stay in a cloud and keep an eye on the healer's mana.
Lord Godfrey
The last boss shoots pistols and calls cursed bullets. Spread out for his bullets, interrupt his pistol shot and keep the group alive while his ghoul servants join the fight.
Tips for a timed Shadowfang Keep key
- Shadowfang Keep is short: skip nothing, kill everything and the timer is easy.
- The final boss gets much more dangerous with Tyrannical, so save your cooldowns for Godfrey.
- Many groups use this dungeon to practice a +20 route: its trash count is predictable.
