The Stonecore Mythic+ guide: Corborus, Slabhide, Ozruk and Azil
Updated
The Stonecore Mythic+ guide for Warspring, the free Cataclysm 4.3.4 private server. The Stonecore is one of the eight dungeons of Mythic+ Season 2, with a 15 minute timer and 5 fights to learn. Below you find the story of the dungeon, what every boss does and how to beat it, and everything that is special about running SC on Warspring.
About The Stonecore
The Stonecore is an earth elemental citadel in Deepholm, the broken heart of Azeroth. The Twilight's Hammer has taken over the caves and High Priestess Azil is using the Stonecore to bring the Elemental Lords' power to the surface. The dungeon is a descent through ruined halls to the altar where the cult is trying to open a gate.
On Warspring the run opens with the gnome mage Millhouse Manastorm, and the four earth bosses after him turn the key into a test of positioning.
The Stonecore on Warspring Mythic+ (Season 2)
- Timer: 15 minutes. Beat it to time the key; a timed key upgrades your keystone and pays the full rewards, an untimed run pays less and depletes the key.
- Affixes: Fortified (every pack of trash is tougher), Tyrannical (bosses have more health and hit harder) and Get Excited (kills give you haste and speed). The set is the same for every Season 2 key.
- Key levels: keys start at +2 and go up to +60. Every level is a bigger step than in Season 1, and the rewards keep growing up to +45.
- Entering: the Teleporter Stone has a Mythic menu that takes you straight into The Stonecore on Heroic difficulty. Start the key at the entrance and the countdown begins.
- Rewards: from key level +20 every Season 2 dungeon drops Dusktide Crests, the currency for the Level 15 to Level 20 Mythic+ gear upgrades at Zaphon (weapons) and Vorgash (armor and jewelry). Higher keys drop more crests, and the Legend (VIP 8) gems are bought with them as well.
- Daily contract: Warden Veyra, standing next to Zaphon, gives one daily quest for every Season 2 dungeon. Complete The Stonecore in time at +20 or higher and you receive five times the crests that key drops.
- Leaderboards: your best timed run in The Stonecore counts for your rating. See the Mythic+ leaderboards, the latest runs and the best runs.
The Stonecore bosses and strategy
Millhouse Manastorm
The gnome mage opens the dungeon with fire and ice. Interrupt his big casts, step out of the arcane bursts and do not underestimate how fast his spells can hit the group.
Corborus
A crystal beast that hits the ground. Stay out of the shockwaves, step away from the crystal shards and keep the tank positioned so the group can burn him down between pulses.
Slabhide
A stone drake that spends part of the fight in the air. Move out of the lava pools, stay clear of the falling rocks and kill the adds that spawn.
Ozruk
The earth lord reflects damage with his shield and shatters the ground. Stop attacking while the shield is active, avoid the cracks and burst him down when the shield is gone.
High Priestess Azil
The cultist at the end calls adds, grips players and drops stone shards on the group. Kill the adds, spread when the shards fall and keep the healer free when the energy bursts hit.
Tips for a timed The Stonecore key
- Stonecore packs are made of casters: coordinate your interrupts before every pull.
- The timer is 15 minutes: Millhouse is quick, so most of your time goes into the last two bosses.
- Fortified makes the mystic packs dangerous; Get Excited helps you stay ahead.
